Donna Schumacher was born and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. At a very early time in her life, she knew she wanted to become a hairstylist. In 1975, her passion for hairstyling grew and she enrolled in a 2 year course at the American School for Beauty Culture. During this time, Donna not only excelled in class, but entered a student state competition and took 1st place in the state of Illinois and 10th in a nationwide competition. After graduating in 1977, she worked the next 10 years in the Chicago area building a clientele that enabled her to take her passions to the next level. As a business owner and stylist, she continued to grow by working behind the scenes for Paul Mitchell and Matrix hair color in several Midwest beauty shows and educational classes.

| In 1987, Donna’s husband was offered an opportunity to transfer his career to San Francisco, California. After passing the California State Boards for Cosmetology, Donna would spend the next six and a half years, rebuilding a clientele and business from the ground up. | |
| In late 1993, a snow skiing accident put Donna out of work for nearly 2 years. Although, doctors told Donna she would NEVER be able to “do hair” again because of her injuries, Donna persisted. Moving to the beautiful coastal town of Pacifica, California, Donna re-opened her business “Hair Techniques by Donna Schumacher” in 1995. This time, she took her creativity a step further and designed the salon herself and for the first year of business worked as the sole hairstylist. | |
| Advanced education in current styles and trends helped build her clientele quickly. Again, Donna expanded her professional horizons, by taking classes to become an educator for the “BIOSILK” product line. “BIOSILK” is a silk based, ammonia FREE, color, perm and hair care product line. | |

Donna’s passion for hair remains the same today
as the day she started. Whether
haircut, perm, color, or highlight, each service is a special and unique
opportunity to create. |

| Over the past 8 years, four talented and educated independent contractor/stylists have joined Donna at Hair Techniques. As a hard working team, the Hair Techniques staff shares the philosophy that continued advanced education provides their clients with the most creative and up-to-date products and styles. | |

Donna's Hours: Tuesday-Friday 10:00am - 7:00pm
Saturday: 8:00am - 2:00pm Sunday –Monday: CLOSED
